Applications are invited(Online mood) by the Department of Posts / India Post, Assam Postal Circle from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in various post offices of Assam Postal Circle:

Total Posts: 919 posts [UR: 439, SC: 50, ST: 87, EWS: 75, OBC: 231, PWD-A: 10, PWD-B: 10, PWD-C: 9, PWD-DE: 8]

Age Limit: The minimum and maximum of age for the purpose of engagement to GDS posts shall be 18 and 40 years respectively as on 05.08.2019 the date of notification of the vacancies.

Permissible relaxation in Upper age limit for different categories are as under:-

a) SC/ ST: 5 years.
b) OBC: 3 years.
c) PWD: 10 years.

Edu. Qualification: HS Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English, conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks.

Compulsory knowledge : The Aspirants should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard  as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India.

Computer Training: The candidates for all approved categories of GDS referred to in (i) above will be required to furnish Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Government/State Government /Universities / Boards / Private Institutions Organizations.

Process: Selection will be made as per the automatic generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidates online submitted applications.

The applicants who have applied and got the name in GraminDak Sevak merit list and selected that need to deposit an amount of Rs.25000/- as security. This amount is for his/her engagement for the post of BPM and Rs.10000/- for other categories.
The security will be deposited in the form of Fidelity Guarantee bond or National Saving Certificate which requires a pledge to the Department of Posts in the name of the President of India (Current).

The candidates which are selected for this post are required to arrange the accommodation within 30 days near the branch office village and notify the authority. The accommodation has to be borne by the candidate.
